Description
The Scottish Pale Ale Cask is the second in Isle of Jura's Islanders' Expressions collection, the island malt finished in casks that held Scottish pale ale, an unusual choice. Jura's distillery, the island's only one, was raised again in 1963 to bring work back to a dwindling community.
The distillery's clean make shows a novel finish clearly. Finished in pale ale casks, the wood adds a light hoppy, cereal note to the honeyed malt.
Bottled at 40%. The ale cask lends a gentle hoppy, malty character over the malt's honeyed core, the ex-Bourbon base giving vanilla beneath. A novel, cereal-led island malt from the Islanders' Expressions line.
