Description
This 18 year old is a travel exclusive edition of Isle of Jura, the island malt given a Bordeaux wine cask influence over its long maturation. Jura is the single distillery on its remote Hebridean island, rebuilt in 1963 for a light, Highland-style spirit.
The distillery's clean make benefits from active wood over eighteen years. Matured with a Bordeaux cask influence, the wine wood adds a dry, fruity layer to the honeyed malt.
Bottled at 42%. The Bordeaux cask gives dark fruit and a drying grip over the malt's honeyed core. The recorded notes run to citrus, fresh fruit, a green leafy lift, honey, seasoned oak and vanilla. An older travel exclusive island malt.
