The 2008 Ardbeg distillation cohort is from the modern stable era under LVMH owned Glenmorangie, with cask #2310047 sister to #2310048 (Murray McDavid Mission Gold release at 57.7% ABV) from the same consecutive fill window.

Filled in 2008 during the modern Glenmorangie owned production era and matured on Islay for fifteen years. Bottled in 2024 at 57.4% ABV, non chill filtered with no added colour. The 2024 release year marks Murray McDavid's continued single cask programme across decades from the 1996 founding to the modern era, having survived the bottler's ownership changes since the early Bruichladdich years.

Fifteen years of maturation under Murray McDavid's Art of Maturation finishing programme delivers a chemistry shaped by both primary and secondary cask exposure. Cis and trans oak lactones (coconut, oiled wood) build at expressive concentration alongside finishing cask specific extraction compounds. The modern Glenmorangie spec peat phenols (guaiacol, syringol, 4 methylguaiacol, p cresol) carry strong intensity at this age, delivering classic Ardbeg phenolic smoke.
