Distilled at Aberfeldy in 2015 and matured 9 years through American oak with a Moscatel sweet wine cask finish, single cask 1205, bottled by The Vintage Malt Whisky Co Ltd. in 2025 at 50% under The Cooper's Choice Golden Cut Collection. 282 bottles in total. Golden Cut is the firm's premium sub series within the Cooper's Choice line, positioned for unusual cask finishes and higher strength single cask releases.

Long fermentation Aberfeldy wash from the four still configuration, distilled in 2015 under John Dewar & Sons (Bacardi) ownership. Initial American oak ageing followed by transfer to a Moscatel sweet wine cask for the finishing stretch. Bottled at 50% with reduced chill filtering and no caramel adjustment under the Golden Cut house specification.

A Moscatel finish cask brings a distinctive polyphenol and aromatic profile: high concentrations of terpene compounds (linalool, geraniol, citronellol) absorbed from prior Moscatel wine contact deliver floral and grape blossom notes, plus residual fructose and polysaccharides that add a softer sweetness than a sherry frame. American oak provides the underlying vanillin and lactone backbone from initial maturation. Aberfeldy's house esters (ethyl laurate, ethyl myristate, heavier alcohols) drive the heather honey base, picking up the Moscatel aromatic layer on the nose and a soft white grape note on the palate at 50%.
